Fall 2010 - Elli is 8 1/2 months old!

Happy Halloween

Here is a look into our trip to Hawaii. It was great - not super relaxing with Elli there but so nice to be together as a family for 10 whole days. She slept great on the plane and took many naps in her stroller by the beach so mom and dad could catch some R and R....

I wish so badly this photo was in focus. Thanks to my parents for allowing us to bombard their vacation time with our baby. It was good bonding time for Elli and Papa.

Amazing Hawaiian Sunsets - Kauai

Daily baths to wash off the pool water and sunscreen. She did not like the sand or ocean - she's not one for texture or really loud noises so we played in the pool every day.

Our first morning in Kauai - we were 4 hours ahead on the time zone change so Elli was ready to go about 4AM Hawaii time - we watched the sun rise from our balcony. We were awake by 5:45AM every morning. We would take Elli on walks along the beach so she could be noisy - there were many other parents around with their kids in the early morning doing the same thing we were.

She looks like her daddy!!! Same legs and cute butt!

And yet such a sweety. She has a black eye (yellow in this pic since it was healing) from whacking her head on the bar stool when she first learned to stand up. She was 7 months old in these.

Props to my brother - Homecoming King for the University of Utah!!! And it is not a popularity contest like in high school.

This is the most recent picture of Elli - 8.5 months. She cruises some on the furniture but mostly just pulls herself up on everything she can. She even stands up without support for about 5 seconds.

Elli has been pure joy. She is such a happy baby and loves to smile, laugh and make silly faces. She talks all the time and is very social.

I love her 2 bottom teeth. She is working on her top teeth now.

She is ready to crawl any day now!

Cynthia took us out last weekend and we did a quick shoot. For a spur of the moment event, it turned out great!!! Thanks Cyn!

5 months old

I can't believe how big she is already. It goes by too fast. But she is just like her daddy - loves her diet coke. Great!!! Actually she is getting a tooth, seems a bit early to us but she is an overachiever just like her parents ;-) so we let her suck on the cold cans. She seems to really like it.
These should be the new advertisements for drinking diet coke :)
Family swim time
Her totally awesome spf 50 suit - no sunscreen required. Plus she looks like the people who swim with Shamu at Sea World. Works great for our long boat rides on Utah Lake too. She will be surfing in no time.
This is one of my favorite outfits of hers. Of course I had to alter it and take in about 3 inches so that it would fit her narrow shoulders and butt (thanks Amy for your help) along with a bunch of other "3-6 month" clothes that didn't fit.

She is super happy all the time and loves to talk, and be heard. She is really loud when she wants to be, reminds me of Alex :)
This is a common site to me, while Alex and I try to sleep in on the weekends with her between us she attacks our faces. I have little cuts from her sharp nails. But I like the attention. Overall she isn't much of a snuggeler.


She giggles all the time at Alex and me, and she is starting to be ticklish in her legs. I love to squeeze them.

Otherwise, we are all surviving. The dog has fungal ear infections and bacterial skin infections, which require twice a day medicine, rinsing of the ears and ear medicine - which he likes to shake out and it keeps landing on me. Sick.

Oh, did I mention Alex now works in California and lives in LA Monday through Thursday??? Ya one week down, 8 more months to go. Yipee for us! But at least it is a permanent promotion in the making.
