Rock Band Party: 12/27/2007

Over the holiday break, Alex and I threw a "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree - Rock Band Party." We dressed up as rock stars and competed in the X-box Rock Band game. We decided it was one of the best parties we have been to...and I think everyone else would agree.
Check out Gwen Steffani and Kid Rock
Creepy rockers, Amy and Shawn. They probably looked like this in high school :) just kidding.

Concentrating on our correct notes

Cam played the drums all night and got really into it

David Bowie and Cyndi Lauper with me. This was the only time we saw Krissa that night!

Lotion Wrestling - 9/03/07

For Alex's work, he was shipped over 2000 bottles of lotion to give away as samples. We decided to put them to better use by having a lotion wrestling party, much better than jello I have to admit.
Jason mounting Alex
Post wrestling. They had lotion in their eyes, mouths and deep in their ears.

Park City Half Marathon - 8/25/07

For some reason, Krissa talked me into running my first half marathon. I had not trained for any running even since Junior High Track Team!! It was actually really fun (the race, not the training). We ran together and with Tom the entire 13 miles through Park City.
Since the race, we have signed up for many others and it has helped keep the love handles to a minimum.

Poor Alex, he was so tired that day sleeping in and all...

Cancun Spring Break - 3/20/07 to 3/22/07

For spring break, we went to an all-inclusive hotel in Cancun, Mexico to get a away for a few days with our friends Krissa and Tom. Needless to say, I don't drink much tequilla anymore, especially not Don Julio's tequilla. BAARRFF (literally). And I didn't win the "Miss Solaris" contest at the hotel. Guess they didn't like my "sexy dancing" :) But Krissa had a great time, broken rib from the pallopa bar and all...it was a great memory maker!

The view from our hotel room. We had windows on two walls that were floor to ceiling. It was awesome!

Pre-snorkel-fest.
We hired our own personal driver to take us along the reef with no other tourists. Looking cute...

We rented little speedboats and got to take them out into the open water. Alex kept jumping through the hugest waves. I am glad I didn't die. I would recommend this to anyone though. Included snorkeling on the reef.

Passed out on the bed. Thanks to Tom and Alex for the sweet photography in this one. Thankfully this was after the puking night :)

Out at the market buying some Nacho Libre masks (krissa on left, me on right).

PA School

The second week of May 2006, just 2 weeks after I graduated from Utah State and then moved down to Salt Lake, I started Physician Assistant school at the University of Utah. I applied with 600 other candidates for only 36 positions and was lucky enough to get in on the first try! I am also the baby of the class :)
In school, we are set up into groups of four to learn physical examination techniques. My group was fantastic. Mari Daly is a local PA who is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She was a great instructor.

After one year of grueling classes from 8 to 5 every day of the week in the same classroom with no windows, we are released into the community to do our clinical training. We even get cool white coats to wear - aren't they sexy?

In PA school, I made 3 of the best friends I could ever hope for. It started out as the "brain trust" studying for hours on end until the early hours of the morning, even sleeping over at each other's houses so that we could get up early and study again in the morning. It sounds really aweful but actually was a lot of fun. We would have a smorgesborg of food and candy and break off into tangents and laugh like crazy. I learned a lot about each of them through studying and they are all 3 very amazing people. We are all great friends and do a ton together now including camping, BBQ, and traveling. 3 of us are taking our spouses to AK for our graduation trip. Even our spouses have become great friends. I couldn't be more lucky.

L to R: Krissa, Amanda, Jen.

I like this pic! Uai was in my clinical group and was voted most likely to go into gynecology, with his LARGE manly hands and the biggest speculum I have ever seen (and I have seen a few in my day)!
